01 Copyright and permitted use
The text and the photographs on this site are the property of The Long Table and are published for reading. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link back to the page it came from, and to print a page for your own use.
Republishing a full article, whether on a website, in a newsletter or in a printed publication, needs permission first. Asking usually gets a yes, and the address is on the contact page.
02 Accuracy and the limits of the material
Everything here is written carefully and corrected quickly when it turns out to be wrong. It remains general writing about the practical side of family life, and it cannot take account of any particular household.
Nothing on this site is legal advice, and nothing on it is clinical advice. Questions about arrangements, money or property need a qualified adviser; questions about health need a GP. The reasoning behind that limit is set out in the editorial policy, and the kinds of service that exist are mapped in support for separated parents.
03 Links to other sites
Where an article points to another organisation, that link is offered because the destination is useful, not because we have any arrangement with it. We do not control what those sites publish and we cannot answer for it.
Paid and partner material is a separate matter and is governed by the sponsored content policy, which explains how such pieces are labelled.
04 Raising something with us
If a page contains an error, uses material it should not, or describes a place that no longer matches what is there, write to the desk and it will be dealt with. Corrections are made in place and the date on the article moves when the sense of a piece changes.
